I personally Shot Andy Warhol occurs as 1996 movie about the life of Valerie Solanas and her relationship with Andy Warhol. A motion picture marked a debut of American director Mary Harron.
A film stars Lili Taylor as Valerie, Jared Harris as Andy Warhol and Martha Plimpton as Valerie's friend Stevie. Stephen Dorff plays Candy Darling, a drag queen friend of two Andy & Valerie. Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground, whose anger with Solanas was easily known, stated publicly that he did non need any film just about her to become processed, & would non allow a filmmakers to utilize his music; instead, Yo La Tengo plays an anonymous & somewhat Velvet Underground-prefer band. It played the pseudo handle of "Sister Ray". Still, Reed's previous colleague John Cale contributed to the soundtrack and spoke extremely of the film.
